BMW’s 3 Series is their bestselling model in India. Earlier this month, BMW launched the LWB version of the 2025 3 Series. Initially, it was launched with a petrol engine option only but now BMW has also launched the diesel variant for the 3 Series LWB.
Powertrain Information

The 2025 3 Series has two diesel variants; the 320Ld M Sport and the 320Ld M Sport Pro. Both variants are powered by the same B47 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 188 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Updated Features and Specifications

For 2025, the 3 Series LWB has received several feature updates, including new LED headlamps and DRLs, a curved 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Most of the other features are carried forward from the older 2024 model, including three-zone climate control, six airbags and BMW’s top-class safety.
Petrol Engine Option

In addition to the new diesel variant, the petrol-powered 3 Series LWB remains available with the B48 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces 255 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds. It is also paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the rear wheels only. The 3 Series is also available with the infamous B58 inline-6 cylinder turbo-petrol engine in the M340i, producing a brutal 381 BHP & 500 Nm of torque powering all four wheels, albeit in the standard wheelbase model only.
Conclusion
BMW’s 3 Series lineup now has something for everyone; a frugal diesel for those with higher mileage, a comfortable turbo-petrol long-wheelbase model for those looking for a blend of sportiness and luxury, and the M340i for those looking for a practical sports car.
