Firstly Happy New Year to all CarAdvice readers. We start this year with 3 questions. First Pradeep wants to know the merits and demerits of Indigo Manza diesel model. The Indigo Manza is a very VFM sedan. It has lots of space, good engine performance, excellent mileage, very good brakes and loads of equipment. However it suffers from quality and poor after sales support. Other then that, the car is an excellent alternative to the Swift DZire.
Ankit says “I am planning to buy a new car. My budget is around 5 lakhs. My average drive per day would be 50 kms. Want to go for a car that can offer good mileage and ask for low maintenance.”
Ankit, I would suggest you stretch a bit and get the Swift LDi. That is the only car which will just manage to fit in your budget and give you good mileage and low maintenance. If you try to push for a 2009 version, you might get some discount on your purchase, so head to the dealer asap and bargain well.
Agraj Gupta wrote “I need to buy a car within the range 5L-6L. I have shortlisted Swift, i20, Ritz and Punto.. But I am confused to go further with any of these. My monthly drive is not more than 150-200km. I don’t want to go for a diesel vehicle. Any other suggestion is welcome.”
Looking at your requirements I would suggest you get the i20 or the Punto. Both the cars offer fantastic equipment and performance and are the latest launches as well. With the Punto you will get a better performing engine whereas the i20 will offer you more peace of mind. If you want to play it safe, you should get the Ritz. But overall, the Punto will be my pick.
