Chevy-Cruze-Road-Test

Karthikeyan asks for my thoughts on the Chevy Cruze.

Karthikeyan the Cruze is an excellent car by GMDAT. It looks good, drives well and has a mad powerplant. The car is a good buy for anyone looking for fun on the highways, however city driving can be a bit tiring due to the high amount of turbo lag. Overall the Cruze is a better buy then the Civic and Corolla for people who look for value and features for the money they part with.

Prad says “Could you please tell me the difference in these two cars. I need low maintenance cost and good mileage. Though i20 looks better than DZire could u please tell me what merits are there in DZire LXi compared to i20 Magna. My price range is between 5 lakh to 6 lakh. Also please tell me the cost of the two vehicles.”

Prad, firstly both cars are from different segment and cater to different needs. If you don’t intend to use the boot too often then get the i20 (the i20 has decent boot too) but overall I would pick up the i20 on the merits of better looks, features, safety and technology. However since you are looking at maintenance and mileage the Swift fits the bill perfectly. The cost of the two cars are quite similar at around Rs. 6.5 lakhs.
