I have shortlisted Swift Dzire VXI/i10 Magna. Which one would be better out of these two in terms of mileage, maintenance costs etc. You are free to suggest anything other than these two also.

Vijay, I would suggest you look at a diesel vehicle if mileage is your concern. The Swift VDi gives good return on each drop of fuel and is a sensible choice. However if you can manage to stretch a bit, than the recently launched Indigo Manza is also a good car to buy. However since you are concerned about maintenance costs, I would suggest you get a petrol car. But the higher running costs very well rub out the savings in service costs. Either way, the best option from both perspective is the Swift diesel.

  1. Wagon R – DUO LXI
  2. New Maruti Estilo – VXI
  3. Hyundia i10 – Magna

I desire comfort in long drive (500-700 KM) and rear sitting space. Can you suggest me from above or should i wait till Jan 2010.

Since you are looking for long term comfort, I would suggest you look at bigger and better vehicles such as the Maruti Swift and Indigo Manza which have excellent seating comfort. Though the Swift lacks rear seat comfort, the drivers seat is quite comfortable for long drives. Out of the three cars you mentioned, the Hyundai i10 would be my pick.

The best deal for you would be to get the newly launched Indigo Manza.Having test driven it myself I think it’s a VFM car and very comfortable as well.

I suggest you go for the i10. It has the best engine in its category. Hyundai is the most successful OEM in Europe and US this year.
