Round 2 of Q & A sees two more questions being answered for CarAdvice readers. Vijay Mutadak wants to know about fuel efficiency and performance of the Hyundai i20 Petrol (Magna). Vijay, the i20 is a fantastic car for normal driving (not fast driving) and I am not sure which version are you referring here as the car has two different petrol engines on offer. I am assuming its the 1.2 Kappa version. The i20 Kappa gives decent mileage. Around 11-12kmpl in the city to be precise which extends to 14kmpl on the highway. Performance is not breath taking but again its decent and good enough for day to day driving. If you are looking for performance, the diesel variant is the one to buy.

I was planning to buy an SUV and have narrowed down my choices to two cars, the Ford Endeavour and the Mitsubushi Pajero. Please let me know which would be the better option in terms of comfort, maintainance, availability of spares and all other parameters – Karthik

Karthik, if you want to off-road regularly then the Mitsubishi Pajero is the SUV to buy. For almost everything else its the Ford Endeavour. Though maintenance of both the SUVs is not cheap, the Ford will have better service and availability of spares. The Pajero’s engine is reliable but old school diesel. There is no common rail here, whereas the Endeavour has a very powerful powerplant. Comfort in the Endy is good for the front two rows. Last row is best for kids. The ride is little harsh, courtesy of leaf springs but overall the Endeavour is the SUV to buy. However if you had other SUVs in consideration then the Fortuner would be my pick.
