Engine and performance of Mahindra Xylo: The new Mahindra Xylo runs on a 4-cylinder, diesel, turbocharged 2.49-liter CRDe engine christened as m-Eagle. The CRDe of Xylo allows you to literally fly at the slightest press on the throttle and you are there at 60kmph in just about 5.8 seconds. The fuel-efficient engine is engineered to adhere to the strict emission norms and delivers a power of 112bhp@3800rpm and torque of 24Kgm@3000 rpm. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and power-assisted steering, besides dual pilot injection and auto tensioner for better handling and a greater comfort to ride.
The new Mahindra Xylo is fitted with longer wheelbase to ensure greater stability and firmer grip on any kind of a road. It is the technology of DDAS (Digital Drive Assist System) that sets the Mahindra Xylo apart from its rivals. What does it mean to have DDAS? This technology helps people get vital information from an on-board computer. Information includes average mileage, left over fuel in the tank and an inbuilt warning system as well. The system is easy to read even for a noob and gives information on which direction the Mahindra Xylo is heading to. As you press a button, you will know the speed as well as your gear position. And all of this will enable you to derive the optimal mileage from driving an MUV like Mahindra Xylo. Sounds cool?
And, the safety features of the new Mahindra Xylo are seconds to none. Its steel structure and ruggedness can disperse the maximum amount of energy if there is a crash. The new XYLO looks are good and starting price is attractive as well. What extras are offered in ex6 or ex8? What is the top speed? I would like to hear the sound of the engine running and sound of closing doors.
I will be in Chandigarh in end of March and see if I could test drive one.

Xylo is a great car. Till you purchase it. Or even think of purchasing it. I brought one from Koncept Motors Safdarjung Enclave Delhi. Now I don’t like driving one. I rather opt to go by my scooter . The amount of insult/blackmailing went through purchasing it makes me wonder why Mahindra is wasting his money on advertising. I would also suggest Toyota/other companies to not bother about the competition they may face from Xylo. Courtsey ,dealers like Koncept will sonner or later are going to finish off the company.
Mahindra stooped so low. They made me pay Rs.20500=00 for seat covers which I never wanted or threatened to cancel my two month old booking.Upon protesting Koncept Mahindra Delhi stopped communicating with me and I had to wait for another week after delivery to get my vehicle number from them.In this time of recession Mahindra is acting life Bajaj of 70′s when Chetak scooter used to sell like hot cakes.Good luck Mr.Mahindra.

I bought a Xylo in March 2009 from the day one it has problims in gear shift system & service providers have no solution for this except for adjusting , it works fine for another two three days then back to the same problem.
I bought XYLO Dec 2009, Its a great vehicle wih all lexury features with low price. Engine is really powerful . I love this beauty !!.

I bought my Xylo E8 in 2009, i enjoyed every moment with my Xylo. It is very comfortable with adequate power. i like it when i i!m driving on long distance . i always get positive feedback from my passengers. The engine is very powerfull , it takles uphill without any effort.I like the space inside the car, even with 8 passengers. My E8 is now on 50 000km without any complaints. Its really value for money. Go and get your , but dont forget to buy the optional service plan. Good luck!
