Fiat Linea

Linea Drive and Handling: The ignition switch in new Linea is not fitted along the steering column; it comes somewhat jetting out. Key insertion will not be initially comfortable as it will be put vertically below the wheel and then should be turned clockwise. The control for indicator and headlight are interchanged in Linea and will be confusing the first drive. An additional footrest is seen near clutch and it indeed is a good thinking. The engine is not only noiseless but also smooth. The new Fiat Linea is fitted with very good suspension systems and probably one of the best in its class. The sedan drive seems to be smooth and easy with superior handling. The suspension system ensures increased comfort from the otherwise rugged Indian roads. The steering is easy to handle and very responsive so one doesn’t feel tired to negotiate the sedan through crowd as well.

Fiat Linea Test DriveMost gizmo features are available in Linea. The Blue&Me technology enables to connect the Bluetooth enabled mobile or notebook to the audio system either to play music or to issue voice commands to operate your phone. The car is fitted with digital information display named Mycar and you will get to know the FM radio frequency, next service date, mileage, etc.
Linea safety features

The new Fiat Linea is a fully loaded sedan with some cool safety features; both active and passive giving that extra safety to the insiders. It has an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBFD). Furthermore, it has airbags on sides as well as on the roof for added safety and a fire protection system as well.

Linea Variants: New Fiat Linea comes in 3 engine variants-1.4L Fire, 1.4L 16v T-jet and 1.3L 16v multijet. The sedan also has many color options including techno grey, cool jazz blue flaming red, Fox-trot azure, lullaby blue, minimal grey, rockabilly black, breakdance green, ambient white and Indie ivory. Fiat Linea price range between 619k to 836k INR

Petrol Version:

Fiat Linea Active: Rs. 6,19,000
Fiat Linea Dynamic: Rs. 6,51,000
Fiat Linea Dynamic Pack: Rs. 6,80,000
Fiat Linea Emotion: Rs. 6,92,000
Fiat Linea Emotion Pack: Rs. 7,22,000

Diesel Version:

Fiat Linea Active: Rs. 7,12,000
Fiat Linea Dynamic: Rs. 7,43,000
Fiat Linea Dynamic Pack: Rs. 7,72,000
Fiat Linea Emotion: Rs. 7,82,000
Fiat Linea Emotion Pack: Rs. 8,36,000

To end I would say that looks is not all. The hype surrounding Linea will come down soon and you will need to evaluate based on its drive easiness, comfort and fuel economy. Never buy the sedan without testdriving it. Fiat joining hands with Tata Motors, gives me some apprehension regarding service Tata service centers are always full house with their own cars any day and I doubt if they can provide hassle free service to Fiat Linea. Anyway we will know that soon. Maybe if the sales and service counters are increased, then the demand could be met.

I own a Linea Emotion Pack Diesel for 3 months now and I am very happy with it. Ride and halndling is excellent and steering response is very good. I did not find the car to be lacking in pull or power (please note that I was previously owning Fiesta and Santro) On highways it is just amazing Even at 150 it does not feel “offground” and gives you a real solid feel
